This chain has gone down hill, possibly as a whole, definitely this location. I remember the days of a packed cinco de mayo patio up here. Now it seems rather empty and rightfully so. They have implemented specials like Taco Tuesday, which is a good deal, so we went a couple Tuesdays ago. It was a nice night so we sat outside. Asked the waitress how the special works. Since we had 3 people do we get 3 meats, she wasn't really good at explaining, just that it would be extra for a 3rd meat. OK whatever, put the order in. The food was good as expected. Since the special is minimum two people, having a 3rd they must just give you larger portions... understandable. But, it wasn't explained that way & we were all charged. I also use to love the ability to make a custom margarita with top shelf tequila. Before they use to have a list of tequilas and prices, the description included GM or Cointreau as well. Now trying to order a custom margarita, the menu is displayed like they are tequila shots, with fine print that you can make it a margarita and you *can* add a liqueur if you want, didn't sound included. Of course non of them have prices. Asking an employee to rattle off 20ish differe

Iโve been coming to Uncle Julioโs at Fairfax Corner for years and have always enjoyed stopping by for drinks and dinner, which is why this experience was so disappointing. We sat outside last night, and unfortunately the service was very poor. Our server seemed inattentive, and overall we felt overlooked throughout the evening. I ordered an espresso martini, and it was honestly one of the worst Iโve ever had. It was spilled when it was brought to the table, and no effort was made to replace it or even offer another one. The drink itself was poorly made and not what I would expect from a restaurant Iโve frequented for so long. The food was also below par, and both of us ended up feeling sick afterward. Between the disappointing food, poorly made drinks, and lackluster service, the entire experience fell far short of what Iโve come to expect from this location. Iโm giving three stars because Iโve had many good experiences here in the past, but after this visit, Iโll be taking a break from coming back. I hope management takes steps to improve the quality of the food, drinks, and service because this restaurant used to be one of my favorites!

Huge menu, lots of tempting flavours โ and top tip: ๐ Do not fill up on chips and dips. Rookie error. We ordered the small guacamole to start โ just about right, though the large wouldโve been better. I was tempted by the tableside guacโฆ maybe next time. I went for steak and chicken fajitas, while the lads opted for tacos. The fajita tortillas were tiny and you only get three โ nowhere near enough for the amount of food sizzling away on that hot plate. Still tasty, just messy (though fajitas are chaos by design). Service was good โ attentive, friendly, and the right attitude. Atmosphere? A bit meh. The acoustics arenโt great and the music felt overly loud, possibly to drown out a big party nearbyโฆ which only made everything louder.

This was a pretty good experience for a chain restaurant. Letโs face it though, their fajitas are hard to beat. We ate at the bar and shared chicken and steak fajitas for 2 and the portions were adequate, the meats were so tender and the accoutrements were plentiful. Edwin at the bar was also very attentive. Iโll come back for sure.
